The old fashioned way..

Tonight I've spent about an hour surfing facebook. It made me wonder what the purpose of having a networking page is. The obvious answer I would give anybody is to get in touch with friends.

However, if I analyze the time I actually spend on facebook, its to snoop around (plus the mild obsession of having lots of friends). I enjoy the "Status" updates, but even better are those people who don't lock their page. I don't need to be "friends" with them to see what they are up to.

The weird thing is that these are people I haven't seen in over 10+ years. Why do I care?? I truly don't know...maybe just the "Big Brother" effect - its fun to sneak a peek? Perhaps to see how I compare to others? Interesting thoughts.

I really started wondering do these internet sites take away the fun of running into an old friend in a store and catching up the old-fashioned way, which is talking?

For now, I will keep my facebook page (its super private to keep away snoopers) to stay in touch with those old friends, and try to spend less time surfing, with more time in real life.

YAY Phillies

Well, its old news now, but the Phillies won the World Series. It was awesome. Here's a pic of me meeting my family at Game 4 (incredible experience).

Its going to be a long week...

Soooo game 1 of the Series has started and I'm sick to my stomach. Phils are up 2-0 at the bottom of the 3rd. I am freakin' out (Rays have bases loaded right now). Its going to be a long week...game 2 tomorrow, 3 & 4 Saturday AND Sunday (which I am going to). Penn State is also playing Ohio State on Sat (at the same time) - I am going to have an ulcer.

On another note, my cat Jackie is supporting the Phils by dressing up...

Yes, its a Santa costume, but its red. Don't make fun of her, she's very excited to support her team.

Let's go Phillies!!

Last night the Phillies advanced to the World Series by beating the Dodgers 5 - 1 (4 -1 in the series). This is AMAZING. My stomach actually gets butterflies just think about it.

And one of the best things is that I am going to GAME 4 of the Series. I can't believe it. Let's go Phils!

Iowa State Ladies

This is a pic from the bachelorette party for Loretta in Chicago. We all went to Iowa State together - we are now spread around the country in NJ (me), NY, Omaha, Idaho, Wisconsin, Chicago. We had a fun time and I miss them a lot!

4 Things I hate to admit...

Jill tagged me to tell 4 things I hate to admit, so here goes:

1) I'm stealing her #1 - ask for help. Miss Independent here. Too much many would say...

2) I love my cat A LOT. Being single, its hard to admit without fear of being titled a cat lady.

3) I occasionally like a day where I don't interact with anybody at all. Pure silence. No talking. It recharges me. Should be interesting if I ever get married / have kids.

4) I occasionally wash my hair with vinegar. Makes it nice and healthy. Smells a little bit though.
